British Museum

I was in the British Museum for the first time and it impressed me very much. I liked it more then tate Modern because I like ancient times and things this rich history.

I prefer the most Asia Gallery because I'm interested in this rich and unusual culture.

This is the bronze statue of Shiva Nataraja from South India (AD 1100). He is seen here as Supreme God and Lord of the Dance. In his upper right hand he holds a drum representing the sound of creation, in his upper left hand he holds a flame of destruction. His raised left foot symbolizing release.

Chinese jade is more precious than gold, it is associated with power and wealth.

This is my hero. her name is Fly. Of course she can fly and cure people and animals. She can be invisible.

Last Week

It is my last week in Queenswood...On Saturday about 100 people left, and now Queenswood isn't so crowded and noisy) . At the weekend we were in Bath. It is a very old town with beautiful buildings. I took a picture of an amazing church and bought something. But it takes about 3 hours to get to Bath...It is too long...At night we had a disco, but only about 10 people danced).
On Sunday some people played softball and tennis, I was in computer class and chatted with my friends. In the evening everybody was in their houses. ! Now I live in the Senior house and like it very much...

Second Weekend

I think my second weekend wasn't perfect...
I bought nothing in Oxford street because we had only one hour and half...I think you need all day to buy smth, the shops are huge and there were too many people...
In the evening we had a disco...It was worse than the first. There were less people and music wasn't so good.

Second London excursion

The second excursion was much better than the first, because the weather was really good..

At first we met with our guide and then we went to the Tower Hill. There were names of the merchant navy and criminals (traitors). We also saw two churches: St.Olaves church and St.Dungstan's church. The guide told us about Plague in the 1665.

We were in the street there The Great Fire(1666) started-Pudding Lane. I took many pictures during the excursion.

Then we went to the old ship which took part in the Second World War. Now it is a museum. There are a lot of models which show us life on this ship. It was really interesting but I think we spent too much time on the ship.

Weekend

I liked our first weekend. On saturday we went to Cambridge, we saw the beautiful old buildings and did shopping. But I think we didn't have enough time to do it.

In the evening we had a disco. I think music was not bad. And on Sunday we was in the Thore Park. I have never been there before and I liked it very much. I didn't try all thrills because there were huge lines. You should stay 2 hours to have 5 minutes of fun..

London Excursion

The trip to London was interesting and useful. I found out a lot of facts which I didn't know before. Our guide was very professional, she is really interested in history of London.

The first stop was an old hospital, which was a school for poor boys before. This house exists now, but in the another place. Then we saw a meat market Smithfield and a famous symbol of London -red phone booths. There were a lot of booths many years ago, but now most people have a mobile phones and they don't need phone booths. I also remembered Pie Corner, where there was a big fire in the 17th century. Someone said that it was a punishment for the gluttony of the people. Another amazing building is St.Paul's Cathedral. It's very big and beautiful.

The second part of our excursion was Tower bridge and Tower of London, which I dreamed to see.

The one bad thing was an awfull weather.
